1900 Park Fare

For an absolutely unique dining experience, we highly recommend taking Breakfast at the Grand Floridian’s 1900 Park Fare. For a family of 2 with a toddler it set us back around $70 but was worth every single penny.

We pre-booked the character dining breakfast via the my Disney experience website – easy as anything to do – get in early to avoid disappointment.

We caught the shuttle from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to the Magic Kingdom then hopped onto the monorail to get the the Grand Floridian. So if you are planning to go, all you need to do is get yourself to the Magic Kingdom and then allow about 20 minutes to get to the GF via the monorail.

We arrived early so had a good look around the hotel which is beautiful. We visited the shop, had a look at the grounds and pool, and went out for some sun on the balcony. I would LOVE to stay here more than anything! It’s such a pretty resort.

When we were ready, we went off for breakfast. Don’t worry about checking in early for your reservation – in fact we encourage it. You will be given a buzzer when a table is ready, so go and get seated as soon as you can as it gets BUSY. The restaurant was very busy and loud, but that’s to be expected when you have such popular characters.

We got Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Tigger and Pooh. So nice to have them come over to your table, sign our toddlers autograph book, pose for photos etc. As mentioned earlier, the breakfast cost us around $70 inclusive of a 20% tip, but it was 100% worth it. No queuing for characters in parks – they come to you and they make sure you see every character.

The food was plentiful, varied, delicious and fresh. Coffee and juice is on your table already and regularly topped up by the attentive waiting staff who just can’t do enough to ensure you are taken care of and having a good time.

The staff are busy and slightly harassed but only because the sittings are so busy and popular – they were all still perfectly polite and helpful. The chefs at the food counter freshly prepare and cook omelettes of your choice…..that’s if the mountain of bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, waffles, muffins, etc aren’t enough choice! I didn’t try the strawberry soup and I really wish I had as everyone raves about it. It’s on my to do list for the next trip.

We enjoyed every single second of this dining experience, but more importantly our 20 month old son was utterly captivated and spoke a new word that day – Tigger 🙂

Highly recommended.
