Having successfully launched in the US, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand in November 2019, the Streaming platform was due launch in, among others, the UK, on March 31st, that is no longer the case….
No Disney have decided to launch a week early here, bringing launch date to March 24th. It is not only the UK that get it early, but Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland as well
Not only that we now know the price point here in the UK market. Starting out at £5.99 per month or £59.99 for a year’s subscription, this marks it out as £1.00 a month more than the current UK Disney streaming app, Disney Life, but still cheaper than the Disney’s rival including Netflix and Amazon Prime.
On launch Disney gave us exclusive content, including the first live action series from a Galaxy Far Far Away, The Mandolorian, two theme park based documentary series, The Imagineering Story and One Day At Disney, as well as the wildly popular, The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
With upcoming projects from Marvel including The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as well as Loki, alongside more Star Wars like an Obi Wan Kenobi mini-series featuring the return of Ewan McGregor in the lead role and the animated Star Wars:The Clone Wars coming back for a new series, the future of Disney+ is very exciting
