So Disney trips have been few and far between, Sam and I visited Disneyland Paris in March but that has been it for 2019 so far, but things are beginning to change.
I will return to Disneyland Paris in the late stages of September for the Run Disney weekend, as I do every year. But that isn’t where it ends. Just 4 days later I will be jumping on a plane to join the After Dark Podcast Network guys in Orlando, a weekend of Halloween Horror Nights fun at Universal Studios Florida (with a possible, still in discussions trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Hollywood Studios, more details to come on that)
But the reason for this post (of what will now become regular updates) is that an MKOW trip to Orlando is now in the diary. In October 2020 The Washington family will return for a full trip to the Sunshine State.
We will be spending some time on property both at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, but currently we have not booked any of that. What we have booked is an off-site villa for a week of our trip.
We decided that, rather than be consumed by the magic we would take some time out away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, the expensive food of the parks and restaurants, we would take breaks away from them when we want.
Saying that we are only staying 10 minutes away from some of the parks, so we can easily take a break in the middle of the day, while also only being a short drive away to be able to go back for the evening.
We love being in the bubble of Disney, but we also like some of the things outside the parks, we love to eat at Dennys or Cracker Barrel, or taking in a round of crazy golf somewhere along International Drive, or a shop at an outlet mall.
I will be driving in the US for the first time (I’m not the most confident person so it will be a test) where as Lisa has done it before.
As I said we will keep you updated on our plans as we decided, both here and on our returning podcast, but for now the begins have began!!!
