Former Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Michael Eisner, is looking to invest in a new company……here in the U.K.

But this is where it becomes interesting, as he is looking to buy League Two football club, Portsmouth.

Based on the South Coast of England, Portsmouth are a former Premier League club who, after winning the FA Cup in 2008, suffered financial struggles caused multiple relegations, leaving them languishing in the third tier of English football.

Eisner is said to have been impressed with the club after the running of the team fell into the hands of the fans.

Any deal will go through stringent tests after the previous financial difficulties, but via his Tornate Group, billionaire Eisner should have no issues.

Mr Eisner spent 21 years with The Walt Disney Company before departing in 2005. Eisner was also head of Paramount Studios, during his time in charge they produced Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

It is believed that Eisner presided over Portsmouth’s last game against Grimsby, where they ran out 4-0 winners
