This coming weekend (March 18th) will see the 50th anniversary of one of Disney’s most loved classic attractions.
Yes it is a pirate’s life as Pirates of the Caribbean turns 50.
Though versions of the ride can now be found at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, as well as a brand new Pirates experience, Battle for the Sunken Treasure, at Shanghai Disneyland, nothing will beat the experience of the original.
And to celebrate that, from the day before the anniversary, new Pirate themed festivities will be seen in New Orleans Square, including The Bootstrappers and Lucky the Pirate.
Not limited to just entertainment, new food offerings will also be available at a few of the New Orleans Square eateries including The Mint Julep Bar, Royal Street Veranda, Harbour Galley and French Market Restaurant.
Items available will include brand new items as well as variant versions of fan favourites. These include a Caribbean Breakfast Burrito, the Hearty Calypso Caribbean Chicken Stew, the Buccaneer Pulled Pork Sandwich,Lost Treasure Beignets, golden Churro, Steak Sandwich, Fruits de mar and The Jolly Roger Punch (which can also be bought in a limited edition Pirate Stein).
As well as the food, a wide variety of merchandise will also be available to visitors. Various t-shirts (including a annual pass holder’s version) and pins (again with an annual pass holder variant) are featured.
