During Yesterday’s Earnings call, it was confirmed that Pandora-World of Avatar will be opening at Animal Kingdom in the next couple of months.
Bob Iger confirmed that, yes the rumours are true, Pandora, based on the James Cameron/Fox movie Avatar, will open mere days after rivals Universal Studios open their Water Theme Park, Volcano Bay.
Pandora will make its bow on May 27th and Disney had this to say regarding what this new land will entail
“First, the family friendly Na’vi River Journey will send guests through a bioluminescent rainforest. Their journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, Avatar Flight of Passage will offer guests the jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee.”
On top of the actual attractions, they also gave us an insight as to what else you can expect from the experience
“Guests will also be able to dine at Satu’li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders.”
Rumours are now abound as to whether we will see soft openings prior to the Grand Event at the end of May, this coming after cast member holidays were blocked for earlier in the month
