D23 Expo

From August 14th to 16th, Disney will be holding their bi-annual event, The D23 Expo.

Held in Anaheim at the Convention Centre, this event highlights all things Disney, past, present and future. Past events have seen appearances from Johnny Depp (as Captain Jack Sparrow), Tom Hiddlestone singing along to Jungle Book songs and Idina Menzel giving her first public performance of song “Let It Go”, from the hit Disney Animated film, Frozen.

As well as this we have seen a select few inducted into the Disney Legends, these have included Jodi Benson (Ariel in Little Mermaid), Tony Baxter (Walt Disney Imagineering) and Billy Crystal & Jon Goodman (Mike & Sully, Monster Inc/University).

Presentations are made for Parks & Resorts, Animation and Live Action productions, as well as concerts highlighting Disney’s Broadway musicals and panels with past imagineers.

In 2015, the main events will once again be the live action presentation, this year including future Marvel and Lucasfilm movies, as well as Disney’s own productions.

Also this year, Parks and Resorts, will be giving a more in-depth look at the new Pandora, World of Avatar construction that is currently going on at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as well as hopefully giving us an insight into what will happen at Hollywood Studios.

John Lasseter will present the Studios look into both Disney Animation and Pixar’s upcoming slate of films, as well as panels for the new Muppets Show on ABC and it’s channel buddy, Once Upon a Time, as it goes in to season 5.

This year’s legend inductees will include Danny Elfman (Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, Avengers:Age of Ultron) and George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones).

Come Back for updates as the event progresses.
