The Fine Cuisine of Parisian Disney….

Now this title may throw you a little, as I won’t actually be talking about food at all, but rather something that has partly taken it name from a food dish

That name would be Ratatouille!!!

Now at some point I’m sure we will talk about the film, but in this instance I will be talking about the new attraction and area currently being build, in what was formally part of the Backstage Tour, in the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris.

This ride was rumoured to be in progress be for quite a while before the official announcement was made, my wife and I took a trip to the parks in November 2012 and the building work even at that point was obvious that something was going on.

Obviously at that point, these were just rumours as to what it was, but the general consensus was that it was a ride based on Paris set, Pixar movie, starring Remy the Rat, who happened to be a brilliant chef

The official announcement came five months after our visit, with this announcement from the Chairman of Disneyland Paris, Phillipe Gas

‘By developing this new Ratatouille attraction, we continue to ensure our guests can experience
their favourite Disney stories in memorable ways that only Disney can provide,The
theme, which is very français, is a tribute to our capital and the unforgettable characters that make
Ratatouille the ideal choice for an attraction that fits perfectly at Disneyland Paris.’

With an opening date of 2014, work would continue int the area through the entirety of 2013, it became clear that the whole area would be themed towards the capital city that park is based in.

Eventually more details became available as to what the attraction would entail, a dark ride based on Remy’s journey through the restaurant and kitchen of Gusteau’s. Using the same trackless ride system as Pooh’s Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland and Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland.

Come September, Disneland Paris finally confirmed the name of the ride,Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémi and issued this artwork to advertise it.

This also gave us our first view of the ride car.

Then at the beginning of the year, a trailer was published to advertise the opening of the ride but still with out an opening date

Finally things were coming together and the building was progressing with the area behind the Toy Story Playland, finally resembling a Paris street and courtyard

And come the general Shareholders meeting in February 2014, we got a glimpse of the inside of the ride

And lastly a opening date was unveil for the new area and attraction, 10th July 2014. Work still continues as we head toward Cast Member testing and soft opening, as a family who enjoy the film immensely we look forward to a future visit to Paris, to ride what we think will be a major addition to the Studios and the resort as a whole
